Why run for Lieutenant Governor?

Cynthia Davis will hold them accountable. The Lieutenant Governor is the only elected office holder who is a member of both the legislative and the executive branches of government. As such, the Lieutenant Governor. is in a unique position to be involved in public policy formation and execution. Best of all, the hallmark of Cynthia's legislative career was marque by her weekly "Capitol Reports" where she faithfully informed constituents of what their state government was doing. As Lieutenant Governor, Cynthia Davis will continue to raise the "iron shade" on both the General Assembly and the Governor's office and will hold both major political parties to a constitutional standard.

Why leave the Republican Party?

Cynthia has spent decades trying to support and reform the Republican Party from within, even becoming a leader in the party and serving as an elected Republican official for nearly nine years. Like many other Americans, she has concluded it is a futile effort. The existing political parties can’t be reformed because there are just too many special interests with too much money to allow it. When she joined the Republican Party, it was to make Missouri better, not to be a member of some elite social club. Her life, her philosophy and her loyalty remain with the enduring principles that made America great. Yet she realized that despite the campaign rhetoric, the Republican Party is mainly paying lip service to the values of personal responsibility, limited government, fiscal responsibility and remain within our constitutional boundaries. Click here to read her entire Letter to the Republican Party explaining further reasons for my decision.

What is the Constitution Party and why run on their ticket?

Founded in 1992, the mission of the Constitution Party is “to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity through the election, at all levels of government, of Constitution Party candidates who will uphold the principles of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. It is our goal to limit the federal government to its delegated, enumerated, Constitutional functions.”

As we are watching our country head in the wrong direction, more people are looking for a party that is governed by principles, holds its candidates accountable and upholds a philosophy based upon a proper understanding of government. That is the very definition of the Constitution Party.

Cynthia’s life, philosophy and loyalty remain with the enduring principles that made America great. That includes the values of personal responsibility, limited government, fiscal responsibility and remaining within our constitutional boundaries. These are the reasons why she wants to join with others who have a larger vision of restoring America and the right solutions to our problems which include respect for our life, liberty and property. Please visit the Constitution Party of Missouri’s website to learn more.

Doesn’t voting for a third party candidate split the vote?

Over the last 15 years, millions of principled conservatives did not vote because they did not see much difference between the major party candidates. Therefore, the conservative vote is already split between the Republican Party and those who will not vote for a "moderate."

A person's vote is truly wasted when he does not use it to express his genuine beliefs. A lesser of two evils vote only leads politicians to act as though they have a mandate to move forward with an agenda that all-too-often hastens the destruction of our country. The major parties offer a choice between driving our country over the cliff at 69 miles per hour or 70 miles per hour. If the fear of voting for a third party is not overcome, there will never be hope for change or for a genuine choice besides the lesser of two evils. A vote for the Constitution Party is a vote for the Constitution and an investment in the restoration of the country.

“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.” - John Quincy Adams

What is the state of politics today?

Like a nightmare, we have seen those on the left force mandatory government health care on everyone against the will of the people. We've watched in near disbelief as Obama has put us trillions of dollars further into debt, look over private banks and industries, actively promoted sexual perversion, threatened our gun rights, disparaged religion and the sanctity of life. These problems are happening with the tacit approval of the majority of those who call themselves Republicans and Democrats. Like the Washington elites, their only guiding principles seem to be to do or say whatever it takes to get re-elected. They have lost their connection to the people in order to be more 'politically correct" in the eyes of the left-wing media. With their new friends they snicker and make fun of those who talk about right and wrong.

Our system was designed so that the government would reflect the will of the people. Instead we have a system that reflects who can donate the most money. With the advent of high priced media, big dollar campaigns have the ability to fabricate a candidate and we end up electing cardboard politicians. They hire the most expensive political handlers with Washington DC connections. After the election party, they seem to forget about whatever they said during the campaign. Most of us have a bad taste in our mouths from the pandering politicians who are either actively taking more of your rights away every day or they are hiding behind the bushes. They are more worried about the liberal media than truly representing the best interests of their constituents. At the end of the day, it's hard to tell one cookie cutter politician from another. Personal responsibility, limited government and economic freedom are under attack from the major parties that are more focused on retaining power than doing the right thing. As a result they are driving our country off the edge of the cliff.

Why does Cynthia need your help?

Because our country and state are in trouble. Every day we wait our Constitution is being trashed and we want honor and integrity to be restored. Our liberty is at stake and there is no other candidate who will protect or defend our values.

There is an old expression, " One person can't do everything, but everyone can do something." We are attempting something that others say can't be done. We are doing hard things. Every person is making a difference. You are part of the astonishment that will happen on election day. We are after one million votes. Your help will make a difference on November 6, 2012.
